Patriotic fervour gripped the Independence Day celebrations across Chittoor, Annamayya and Sri Sathya Sai districts on Saturday, with State Ministers highlighting welfare delivery, infrastructure and economic development.
In Chittoor, Health and Medical Education Minister Satya Kumar Yadav hoisted the tricolour and received the guard of honour at the Police Parade Ground. He said the government was working to make the district a role model in development and welfare. Highlighting healthcare, Mr. Satya Kumar Yadav said digital health initiatives had brought more than 10.34 lakh people under ABHA-linked services. He also stressed education, agriculture, irrigation and housing as key priorities, while emphasising support for poor families.
At Madanapalle’s historic BT College grounds, Minister for Transport, Youth Services and Sports Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy hosited the national flag and received the ceremonial salute. He reviewed the parade in the presence of the in-charge Collector Siva Narayana Sharma, Superintendent of Police (SP) Dheeraj Kunubilli, and other officials. Addressing the gathering, the Minister said that the State government was committed to developing Annamayya district into a vibrant horticulture hub and to boosting employment generation.
Minister for Backward Classes Welfare and Textiles S. Savitha presented the Sri Sathya Sai district progress report after hoisting the national flag at Puttaparthi. She said the administration was targeting 15% annual growth under the ‘Swarna Andhra 2047’ vision. Free bus travel had benefited 2.41 crore women, while ‘Thalliki Vandanam’ assistance of ₹341.59 crore was credited to the accounts of 2,27,728 students’ mothers.

The Minister further highlighted ₹179.35 crore in investment assistance to 2.65 lakh farmer families, irrigation and drinking-water projects, and industrial growth. Investments of ₹2,140.81 crore in 14,318 MSMEs have generated 79,249 jobs, while proposed defence and aerospace projects worth ₹18,240 crore are expected to create another 9,235 jobs, she added.
Meanwhile, thousands of students and artisans participated in the cultural activities across the three districts. The dignitaries presented the appreciation certificates to the employees of various government departments in recognition of their services.
